Goodbye and Thank You, Joyce McKee

Joyce McKee trade show bloggerThe trade show industry lost one of its finest voices recently.  Joyce McKee, trade show blogger extraordinaire, died November 19, 2012, of a stroke.

While blogging had been her passion over the last few years, she has been involved in trade show marketing for decades, and used the blogging medium to gladly share her insights gleaned from both new research and her vast experience.

And blog she did.  Joyce wrote 3 blogs for the trade show industry, posting relentlessly on a range of trade show topics, especially on trade shows and social media, lead management, and the value of trade shows.  She wrote her own blog, Let’s Talk Trade Shows, plus also blogged for industry groups The Center for Industry Research (CEIR) and for The International Center for Exhibitor and Event Marketing.

Joyce was energetic, enthusiastic, and innovation-minded.  We “talked trade shows” and social media in person, in blog posts, and webinars.   Talking trade shows with Joyce was always a joy because we held the same core beliefs:  That exhibiting is a worthwhile marketing medium.  That with effort you can always exhibit better.  And that we need to keep sharing all the best exhibiting advice we can.

It doesn’t seem possible that that blazing inferno of a marketer could have her fire extinguished.  She had a lot to share with the trade show industry and shared it willingly.  Thank you, Joyce, for all you did for me, and for our industry.  You will be missed.
